Sea Beauties

Sometimes you can find them at a garage or yard sale. If one is really desperate, they can be purchased for an inflated price at the beach side tourist shop.  The most fun place to capture these sea treasures is at the beach with the sand between your toes and the sea breeze in your hair. Grabbing the shell before it is pulled back by the tide becomes a game to be enjoyed.  My shell collection comes from all three places.

These beauties from the sea silently speak of another world. It is a world I can only visit, but never call it my home. Traded in my mermaid outfit some time ago!  The seashells hint of a world of beauty, mystery, orderly patterns and design.  Photographing the shells has been a fun project this summer.
